Rap duo Mad on Dough are repping the South Soweto to be more precise. The Madondo brothers hail from Soweto and are intent on building a brand that is proudly Sowetan.
Moxx, real name Mxolisi (27) and Chocco, real name Sabelo (23) are young and vibrant rappers who chose the rap name Mad on Dough as a play on their surname Madondo. The duo hit the South African hip hop industry with their popular hit Fill my Cup which features a Nightcrawlers sample, and with it bring a breath of fresh and energetic hip hop flavor to the genre.
This young duo's music journey began in the year 2001. They got a taste of the entertainment industry when their dad was the road manager for the Yizo Yizo tours. They performed as back-up dancers. But they wanted more. Inspired by local acts like Skwatta Kamp, Zola & Pro, they made the most of their musical background and become part of a group called CHAOS in 2008. They went on to polish their skills with a touch of confident street straight talk with undisputable vernacular street rhymes.
The unsigned duo has managed to fill the streets of many communities around the country with positive messages of hope, social awareness and party songs.
With the help of producers such as Lection (Wheel of Steel), Jamela (999), Omen and Dome(Domestic Violence). This charismatic duo has managed to place themselves on the map by working with well-known artists like Big Nuz, Zola, DJ C-Live, Emtee, L'vovo, Saudi, JubJub, Zuluboy, GP Gangster, 985, Jamela, Kay E, F-Eezy and more. Boasting hits like Get Down, Tobetsa, Fill My Cup, Dab On It and most recently teaming up with Dj C-Live for his recent single "Monate Fela" which topped the charts on Metro FM, YFM, Ikwekwezi FM, TruFM, Thobela FM, Tshwane FM, Jozi FM, and even outside the country on Flava FM in Zambia.
Their tracks Fill My Cup and Dab On It topped the charts on Channel O, Club 808, Live Amp, Turn Up and Soweto TV. This year Mad on Dough promises to take over the SA hip hop scene by storm with their upcoming hit singles featuring Emtee, Danger (Big Nuz), L'vovo, Zola7 and Maggz. This guys are set for growth and incredible popularity within the South African entertainment industry.
